Hello everyone! I'm Amy, 25 years old and from Ohio. Married to my DH Harvy since May 28th, 2005. We're currently TTC our first together. I'm a step mama to two beautiful kiddos. Alexis is 7 and Caden is 5. I seen a fertility specialist for the first time 2 weeks ago. DH and I have been TTC nearly 2 years with no success
Here is my story:
My last "Normal" period before my fertility specialist was on January 8th. I didn't have my period all of January, February, March...but began bleeding in April and haven't stopped since then. My Dr. gave me a choice of the D&C or starting on birth control pills first. My DH and I opted to try the pills first. I went in for bloodwork and had a U/S on June 14th, then went back to the Dr. for the results on June 19th. He said I'm borderline for PCOS. He thinks my insulin may have something to do with not ovulating too My regular U/S and Trans-Vag U/S showed 2 cysts on my left ovary. Largest one measuring 1.9CM and the other was 1.0. He told me this was nothing to worry about unless they grow to 5-6CM. That was good news. The labwork showed my prolactin levels were a little bit high and I am borderline for PCOS and Type II Diabetes. I was put on the birth control pill and took one every 8 hours until that pack was gone. I then started another pack with 1 a day for 5 days. I immediately started AF the first missed day of the BCP. AF lasted 7 days. I was also put on 500mg of Metaformin (Glucophage) twice a day. I've read a lot of your side effects that others have posted and the only side effect I've had was dirrhea when I take the pill and don't eat with it. Other than that I feel completely normal. He thinks this will do the trick for us. I go back to see him in 2 weeks to see how we're doing. I'm C10 now, and we bought some OPK's tonite to start tomorrow to find out if we're ovulating. I hope we do and pray to God this is our month. Man, I never knew TTC could be such a long stressful journey. Enough of my ramblings...off to get to know everyone

Welcome to the boards...You will definately find the help here that you are looking for on your ttc journey. If you are interested in some help with tracking check out www.fertilityfriend.com also talk to your doc about upping your Met dose. It seems that with PCOS getting up over 1500mgs is ideal. It helped me TTC with this pg. I wish you all the best and I hope that your journey is short! I am sure I will see you around the boards...
