Diagnosed w/PCOS since 12/05. 29 y/o. My PCP insists I have it because I have multiple cysts all over my ovaries. I don't know what that means but anyway I've lost 80lbs on my own. Was considering lap band surgery then considered gastric bypass surgery. Still go to weight loss support group at hospital but trying to do it myself since I think it's more related to PCOS than limiting what I eat although that's part of it. Metformin 2x a day 500 each dosage. Underactive thyroid since I was 16 y/o currently taking 150mg. Take Wellbutrin 300mg and Cymbalta I forget the dosage one pill and YAZ. Lots of stuff it feels like. I feel better but I know my hormones are crazy. Deal with hair on my chin and neck, very minor, get electrolysis so no one really sees it much but when I do get a nasty hair they hurt so much on my face I can feel them and it's all I can do to pluck them myself! Also deal with brown spots on my back and upper arms I thought it was sun damage but I guess it's caused from pcos and insulin resistance although I am not diabetic. But it's gone way down since I've lost weight. Ok hope to get to know you all!
