Hi there, I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is angela and I haven't been formally diagnosed (yet, I finally found a dr who would listen), I'm pretty sure I have PCOS. I was fine up until about 2 years ago. Then weird things started happening, my hair line started receeding, i started growing facial hair, we decided we wanted one more child and it never happened (our other 3 took 1 month), my periods became increasingly irregular and when I did have them (once ever 3-4 months) they didn't last their normal 7 or so days, but came and went in 1 1/2 days. Lately, I have been exhausted all the time, and started getting headaches after eating (especially if the meal was high in carbs or if I drank a pop) and I had enough. 1 dr told me my symptoms were "normal signs of aging" (I'm 31) and another told me she didn't have time to go into all my symptoms and to come back another time. I finally found a dr who listened and ordered tons of tests to figure it all out. I am having a pelvic ultrasound tomorrow and saturday I will go in for my blood work (it had to be fasting blood work and saturday is the easiest day for me to do that!). Anyway, I found this site and have been reading a few posts and some are like reading things I could have written myself! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself!
Hi Angela nice to meet you!! I know what it is like dealing with DRs who don't listen, as probably most of us do, and it doesn't make our situation any easier. This site and is great with information and people who will listen and support you no matter what. I just had more blood work done today, I hate that!! But, I just wanted to Welcome you to SC and say HELLO

Thank you! It's nice not to be told having all these syptoms is normal! I have what looks like a lot of blood work to get done (I have no idea what most of these even are lol...DHEA-S? FT4? UGH!) and I am not looking forward to the ultrasound either, but whatever it takes to get answers and hopefully some solutions works for me! Thanks for the welcome!!
I know what you mean, before I found this website I though I was "weird" since I didn't know so many woman have PCOS. I don't really understand my blood work results either but my new DR is really easy to talk and always breaks stuff down in "normal" words for me haha. I have to do another ultrasound this Friday, it's not that bad but I had going to the girl DR anyways. Hope your enjoying the website!!
