Default Newbie....

I am new to Soulcysters. Just wanted to introduce myself.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 9 years back. I have all the symptons like irregular periods, facial hair, hair loss, insulin resistence etc. Currently taking Metformin XR 1500.

This is a wonderful site, keep up the good work.

Has the metaformin worked for you? I am new to this and am in the process of being diagnosed and want to be prepared when I go to the doctor this week.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I took metformin 1500 few years back. I lost 20 pounds but it did not regulate my periods. I stopped it later and gained back 10 pounds. Again from last year I started with 1000. I am on strict diet and doing lot of exercises and lost around 15 pounds this year, I think metformin did not help with weight loss this time around. Eventhough still irregular, I am getting my periods without using Provera. Hopefully it will become regular soon. Also from 2 weeks I incresed metformin to 1500.
