Default newbie

Hello, I am new to SC and to PCOS. I'm not shocked at all that I have PCOS; I feel like I've been asking doctors about these symptoms forever, only to be blown off until I was TTC. Well, now we are here...and so is the PCOS.

I'm 5'7" and about 135-140 lbs. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia in the early '90s, although the fasting glucose test from last week came back normal. I never have AF without BCP, therefore no O, which I hear is important to get pregnant!! Guess all of this adds up to PCOS. RE has recommended Clomid, which I think I will start this next week.

Has anyone heard much about the german measles/rubella vaccination? It was suggested to me, but does anyone ever get this now that we are all vaccinated against it? I'm hesitant to delay TTC much longer.

Also, I'm wondering about Robitussin and Preseed. And anything else that might be helpful. My insurance will not cover blood tests, or the sonogram if/when I actually O. It's all pretty pricey, so I'm willing to invest in whatever might make our chances better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

about the MMR shot. if you have to do more then just clomid, like IUI or IVF the RE will most likely have to do a infectious disease blood panel on you, though this varies from state to state. so i know if i wasn't immune to MMR, which shows through the b/w, my dr here in cali wouldn't be able to do IUI or IVF. and the vaccines go back to the whole herd immunity factor. as in they want as many people who can physically have the vaccine to have it, so that those who are ill and cannot handle the vaccine won't get infected or exposed.
i have heard good things about pre-seed. think it may be worth investing in. their website will actually give you a free trial pack. and the robitussin may also be worth trying, since it is so cheap.
good luck with your TTC journey
