Arrow Newbie!

Hi everyone!

So glad I've found this site. I've finally found a doctor who will listen to me and who is sending me for tests. Got my blood tests tomorrow and have to wait for an appointment for an ultrasound. My previous doctor told me that I probably had PCOS but there wasn't much point in testing for it. I suppose I know deep down that I have it - excess hair (partially treated with laser hair removal), acne (treated with harsh tablets), weight gain which I can't lose, depression, and irregular periods before I went on the pill. My new doctor says its sounds likely that I do have it.

One of the things that's upsetting me at the moment is that I can't lose weight. I'm doing everything right and if I was joe bloggs on the street, I'd be shedding pounds. Instead I seem to be holding on to them and even gaining some. It's very demoralising, especially as I have a holiday to look forward to.

I'm very lucky though that I have a wonderful partner who will support me whatever.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading more on the site and becoming clued up about my potential 'enemy'. I'm glad I stumbled on to this site. I get the feeling that it's going to be very useful!

Best wishes to you all
Sue

Hi Sue

Welcome - I'm fairly new too. You will really like this site! it is so wonderfully crammed full of help and answers.

Ref: weight ! I know what you mean - I have been really strict this week on my diet and swam 180 lengths this week and managed to lose ............wait for it ........ half a pound!
Some of the other ladies talk about a drug called metformin(spelling) which is meant to help balance your blood sugars etc. - and while not a weight loss drug can assist with weight and other symptoms.

Anyway good luck

regards

Lou

Hi Sue! Welcome to Soulcysters. I'm glad to hear you're finally getting somewhere with your doctor. I too changed doctors and it was the best thing I ever did.
Look forward to hearing how you get on.
Love
