hi all
I was finally diagnosed yesterday but had my hormone levels checked a couple of years ago because of no periods since going off bcp. For the past 2 years I've been on progesterone every 3 months to force a period but no other treatment. I have elevated testosterone, DHEA-s and classic PCOS ovaries, but am normal weight and don't have any of the other external symptoms.
We think we want to have kids-stopped using any bc a few months ago, but obviously no chance of getting pregnant since I'm not ovulating. I talked to my fp dr about met, she's sending my file on to an endo after I get a few more tests done. She's having me get more blood drawn for 17-hydroxyprogesterone and a full lipid profile. Also, I had an ultrasound to look at my ovaries and uterus. but now she wants another ultrasound to look at my kidneys? not sure why. Anyway I may be going on met after these tests. and we'll see how hard we're going to try to have kids... |
