Hi everyone, my name is Wendy, I'm 24 years old. I found out that I had PCOS last year, three months after hubby and I got engaged (ouch) I just knew that he wouldn't want to marry me. But now we've been married a year! It's great! I'm way over weight and over have been so now Hubby and I joined WW. I've only been on it a couple days, and it's hard for me to get stay on track. But I know that in the end the struggle will be worth it. In case you haven't figured it out yet. I love to talk! I'm from the south and we LOVE to talk. I have a myspace and a livejournal feel free to check them out.
Hey Wendy! Welcome aboard! NC chic here! Congrats on the marriage! You have come to the right place for support! You will get tons of info and support here. Dont be afraid to ask questions.....nothing is off limits here. Everyone here is awesome.
I am overweight too. I have gained about 30 pounds since I was married in 97. I have tried WW. It does work. I lost 7 pounds in 1 week on the plan. But I could not stick with it. That is horrible to say. I am not that disciplined. It is totally worth it though. Keep us updated on your progress. There are some great stickies on the dieting thread and tons of support there. Maybe you will find a WW buddy here too....

Hi!! I'm not PCOS, my daughter is. However, a friend and I gathered some friends and we all joined WW. I LOVE it!!!!! It ended up that three of us stayed with it and now we're all lifetimers. We found that having each other really helped. I have a TON of recipes and if you want some just let me know! I will highly reccommend a cookbook called "Fix it and Forget It Lightly" It's a crockpot cookbook, but I often do some of the recipes in the oven. I am NOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT a cook either!! LOL! Of course, being that this PCOS is new to me I'm not sure what diet restrictions might need exchanges. We'll be re-learning all that as well.
Anyhow, like I mentioned to another person in another post... I read that for PCOS'ers trying to lose weight, it's important to maybe not focus on the numbers of the scale as much as the numbers of measurements.
In fact, a friend of mine has this (and has been a wonderful resource and led me here in fact - Hi Holly if you're here!!! :o) ) and has been doing WW and working out 5 days a week. She has lost not a single pound. Keeps floating back and forth between two pounds. However, she's dropped two pant sizes!!! Amazing isn't it!?!?!? Kind of depressing also to be working so hard and not seeing massive results. She's not on Metformin though, she's doing it on her own for now.
Anyhow, good luck and I'll be interested to see how things work for you! If you want recipes let me know!
