Unhappy Newbie To Clomid

Hi everyone! I have just started 50mgs of Clomid for the first time this past Sunday. I am taking it cycle days 5-9 and I am currently on my 5th day. I have looked for other people on here that are just strickly taking Clomid and prenatal vitamins and nothing else, but cannot seem to find anyone. I just wanted to see who all had success with just Clomid and how many mgs and for how long was it taken for.
I have my hopes up very high that it will work for me, but I am very scared that it won't

I used 50mg of clomid and got pregnant right away. That was four years ago. Now i have used four rounds and got up to as high as 250mg and my body has shown no response.

Wow I am so sorry to hear that you're unable to get pregnant so far this time around! I can't imagine how you feel I hope that things turn around for you very soon!
As mentioned in my posting..I am taking 50mgs of Clomid as we speak. I am not sure if I am or will respond to the Clomid as it is too early to tell. I am trying to have as much intercourse as I can lol...and I hope that it will work.
I am going to have blood work done on Day 21 of my cycle to see if I have ovulated. I hope that I have and I hope that I will get a BFP the first time around like you did.

It's good to know that there is someone out there that has or is experiencing the same thing as I am. I have had a lot of trouble finding someone that takes just clomid.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with me and I really do hope the best for you!

Sorry to hear that. I wonder what is different this time? are you heavier than you were when you responded? I ask that question because my doc seems to think that weight is a factor.

I am on my 4th cycle of comid and to date, by body has not responded in terms of 'O'. it seems that the only thing it does for me is give me hot flushes and mood swings! arrgh

I have just finished my first time on clomid 50mg, so nothing yet has happened, apart from hot flushes!

Hi Linda! That is great that you are starting Clomid this month! Hopefully we can be 'clomid cysters'.
I had a postitive experience with Clomid. I didn't experience any side effects...no mood swings or anything I was very greatful of that, as I have heard a lot of horrible stories about clomid side effects.
I go tomorrow (March 18th) to get CD 21 bloodowork done to see if I indeed ovulated. I am so hoping that I did and that I will get my BFP first time around.
I really hope the best for you and please keep me updated on your situation and how your Clomid experience goes.

Hey ladies! I started my first cycle of Clomid this month 50mg along with 2000 mg of Metformin my temps aren't rising all that high so iam a little worried that it didn't work. I have VERY irregular cycles so iam wondering what the chances of me actually conceiving are on this combo. Ahhh it's so frusturating. I would love any success stories

Hey there! I'm not currently on Clomid (I'm due in 2 weeks!), but I conceived on 50mg of Clomid, on my 2nd cycle. I wasn't taking any other meds. I get so scared when I see others who didn't have any response on Clomid the second time around, but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Just FYI - there are lots of horror stories about Clomid side effects out there. I didn't have any side effects except that I was warmer than I typically am. Some people say it makes them crazy, but I didn't have that issue at all. I was surprised at how easy it was to tolerate. Unfortunately, I actually hyperstimulated on the Clomid though, so I had very painful ovulation. It's really really rare on 50 mg though.

Good luck to all of you!!! Baby dust all around!

Hi Marji! Congrats on your pregnancy!! I was just wondering how many mgs of clomid you were taking when you got pregnant?
What were your first symptoms of pregnancy?
I have finished my 1st round of clomid 3 weeks ago this coming Friday. I went for my CD21 bloodwork today, but won't find out the results until early next week . I am very excited to see if I'm pregnant..as I know that I have ovulated since I have been experiencing cramping & bloating feeling.

I am not sure if it's the aftermath of the Clomid, but I have been feeling sick and even more crampy. ( I am hoping this is a sign of pregnancy)

I hope the best for you and your baby

Hey there! I conceived on 50mg of Clomid, on the 2nd round.

As for symptoms, I'm very sensitive to them, so please take this with a grain of salt! Within a couple of days of ovulation, I was crampy, and kept telling DH that I knew I was about to get my period. He kept saying, "You never get cramps this early!" He was right, but I didn't really pick up on it. I also had really mild nausea almost immediately after O (within a few days). The thing is, it might have been anxiety or nervousness at the thought of being pregnant! Also, the Clomid made me slightly dizzy, and that often makes me nauseous too... I didn't have the classic breast tenderness or anything. Oh, and yes, I was super bloated, but that's the story of my life, and could have been AF approaching.

As far as CD 21 bloodwork, mine always came back within a day. I'm surprised your's won't be back for a week. The workup will just tell you if you ovulated - not if you're pregnant. Did you take ovulation tests or your temp? You might already know if you ovulated if you did those things. My O tests and temp monitoring were horrible, so the only thing that told me I was O'ing, was really bad cramping. I got my "CD 21" bloodwork on CD 25ish, because I knew I didn't O until CD 21, and the bloodwork wouldn't have shown anything. My bloodwork on CD 25 showed my p4 level at 55 the first month, and 132 the second month. Both were very high numbers, because I had a super response to the Clomid. I think most docs look for a number over 10 or 15 to indicate ovulation. My doc told me there was no number that indicated pregnancy, but the higher the number, the stronger the ovulation, so a higher number was "better". I don't know if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm praying for you girlie! Definitely send me a private message or keep up this thread if you have any other questions. I'm by no means an expert, but I'm here if you need me! Good luck! The feeling of a BFP is like nothing else in the world!

Thanks Marji! That is a lot of useful information
I am not too sure myself why it takes over a week for my results to come back, maybe it's the fact that it has to be sent away for testing, and also that Good Friday is this week?
Who know's but I am very excited to hear the results!!
Like I mentioned in my last response to you...I have been experiencing cramping and nausea and the erge to pee often. I thought that I possibly had an UTI, but it turns out that I don't. I am so hoping that these are signs of pregnancy, but you never know as our bodies seem to play tricks on us at all the wrong times.

By you telling me that Clomid worked for you so quickly, gives me hope
I have read a lot of stories on here from women that haven't had any luck what so ever on Clomid, and I was getting rather scared.

I will keep you posted as to what my results are and if I indeed get the long awaited BFP!

Take Care
