Default Newbie Glucophage/Met quessy

I was diagnosed with PCOS over a year ago, but have only had treatment stated recently.

I am overweight (very) with a very high insulin level. I have been given Glucophage 500mg twice daily. My question is this... Does Glucophage help towards losing the extra weight that has been refusing to move?

I just started met on 4/20/05 with a weight of 275 and have already noticed weight loss that i never thought would happen since i've been overweight since i'm 16 when i was diagnosed with pcos so far i've it's about 4-5lbs off, It has been said that this med will help with weight loss esp. with people that have pcos.
