Hi. Just found out I have polycystic ovaries - not sure if I have POCS yet. Appointment with Endo in two weeks. Originally went to him because I had a slightly elevated prolactin level. I've had an MRI, heaps of blood tests and scan, which revealed the cysts. The scan did reveal that I had released an egg that cycle.
I have a regular period (every 27/28 days) although it was a bit erratic since coming off pill nearly a year ago. (Day, 25, 31, 24) I have been pregnant before when I was 23 but sadly, didn't go through with it and had a terminantion at seven weeks. BEFORE I face any judgement, I am deeply regretful over this and am going through some Christian healing for it. Believe me, I hate myself for it. It was a very messed up time of my life.
I haven't been using contraception but have been avoiding i/c during supposed fertile time.
The doctor who did my scan said don't worry too much about the polycystic ovaries. She told me she had them and had kids and that my mum probably has them. But I am worried and I am a real worrier.
I am 5' 10" and slightly overweight but going to weight watchers. I have no hair problems and get pimples around that time of the month.
I have had bad PMS but since exercising and taking evening primrose, magnesium and some other vitamins, symptoms have improved. Have delayed taking chasteberry for now as endo is going to put me on some meds to decrease prolactin levels. He said that high prolactin levels stop ovulation but in my case they are only slightly elevated and the fact that I am menstruating monthly is a good sign of ovulation.
I'm new to all this and I really want to start ttc. But I am scared to really start trying in case I am disappointed. I am a bit of a stresshead and pessimist and I am convinced that I won't get pregnant. I am 28 and I love my husband so much and feel like I want to start ttc.
I'm really glad to have found this forum. Sorry this post is so long!

Welcome to sc. I joined the site just this month and its brilliant. The information is really useful . Often you don' t have to ask the question as its already on the board. And making new friends who have the same condition has been a good experience.
