Hi I'm 22 years old, well 23 years old tomorrow. I was diagnosed in September with PCOS. Although I have done alot of reading there is still alot I don't know. I'm hoping to learn alot from you all. So far I have just been put on a birth control and told to diet and exercise. Is this what every body is left to do? I'm hoping to lose 10-20 lbs this year. I've kicked my soda habit to help aid in this battle. So a little bit of info about me is that I'm a newlywed, we were married in June 07. I have 3 cats: Bubba, Sissy, and Petey. I also like to knit and garden. Thanks for all the great info...
From what I understand of it, if you are not wanting to have a baby right now and are not using any other protection...birth control is a good bet for you.
My OB advised me to lose a small portion of weight to kick my hormones back into a good place...so I'm working on that right now. 2-5% of your body weight is ideal from what I'm reading.
Good luck and welcome!
