Default Newbie here

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group and say thank you for all this wonderful information you all have put together on this forum. It has been a great comfort to come on here and hear about women who are going through the same thing I am.

I've got the "normal" PCOS symptoms I guess. AF stopped visiting when I was 15 and came 3x a year if that. Doctors I went to just put me on BC and said it would regulate over time. Then around age 21 I was up from 125 lbs to about 200 lbs, fatigued all the time and hirsuitism. That was the worst. The weight gain and lack of AF is enough to make me feel like a freak but with the hirsuitism... uggghh.

Yesterday I saw a gyn that diagnosed me officially with PCOS and put me on Yaz, Spiro, Met and Provera. I felt like crying because I was so happy I finally had a doctor that listened to me and that I liked. I was so excited I think I made the BF listen to me talk about the visit and treatment 200x.

I also have an identical twin who has the same symptoms and is just on Yaz. She's doing laser and seeing an endo, while I am seeing my gyn and doing electrolysis. We like to let one do one thing and see if it works. I guess we are each other's guinea pigs as well as a suppoter through all this.

Thanks again to everyone on here and I'm sure I'll be bugging someone on the medication thread if this Met starts kicking my butt.

welcome to sc all the best for the met. I find that as long as i avoid greasy/fatty/sugar foods as much as poss, and always eat with the met i am ok with it.

Welcome! I am new here too. About the medications, I am not sure. I am only on 500 mg of Met. And so far it hasn't been bad at all, which is probably due to the lower dosage. I don't have any weight problems and ovulate on my own, but I still have a very mild case of pcos. I am glad to have found it out and that I was directed to this site.

Nice to meet you!
