Hi everyone, I'm Kayla and I am 21. I have the best fiance ever. His name is Nick and he is 22. We got engaged October 4, 2008 on our 6th anniversary! I was officially diagnosed with PCOS last month, although I have had it since I can remember. I have had irregular periods since I got my first period when I was 11. They went from every 4 months, to six months, to never.

I have been to several gyns who told me not to worry and everything was normal. Last year after 9 months of no AF I was given provera to induce it and that was it. Finally last month after a year of no AF I found a gyn that would finally listen. She asked about my history, did extensive blood work, and an ultrasound. My testosterone levels came back within the normal range, but in the high normal range. No IR, I got lucky there. My u/s showed enlarged ovaries with lots of tiny cysts.

Anyway, my gyn induced AF with a progesterone shot and prescribed me YAZ, which didn't work to well. Bad side effects. I am currently switching to Kariva. Hopefully that works better. I am also dieting and exercising like a mad woman!!! I am determined to get my myself back into shape and control this PCOS. It is so nice to have found this forum with girls experiencing the same things as me. Good luck to all of you!
