Default Newbie here feeling quite confused!! NLB

Hello to all, I am new here and was diagnosed with PCOS last summer. Since it seems I have been in a whirlwind trying to figure it all out. I hated birth control and was convinced for the longest time that my history of using it confused my ovaries and now they don't know how to ovulate on there own. Now only to be told I have to get back on it in order to regulate my cycle because I haven't menstruated on my own in quite some time. So now I am on Ortho lo, spironolactalone and metformin, although I stopped taking it I feel like my Dr. knows about as much as I do about it and just prescribes me meds that "should" work. -- I am looking for a new Dr. who understands PCOS in the DC/MD area!---any suggestions??----I'm sure I share many of the same worries and desires as everyone here - just wanting to mentruate without meds and one day have a baby!! Any insight will do. This is a great website and I look forward to hearing from you all!!

Since amenorrhea is only one symptom of PCOS and you don't mention any other, I'd find a doctor to do a panel of bloodwork and see what is actually going on!

Good luck in your search.

Well I actually have the unpleasant hair growth also and my testosterone levels were high also. Between the birth control, which makes me nutts emotionally, and the PCOS I don't feel I know what normal is anymore or which are side effects of which
