bashful in NY

Hi there,

I'm new here and noticed the section on BCP's. I'm seeing my Dr. tomorrow and wanted some insight as to which BCP's have worked in preventing further cysts from forming. I'm currently on Aviane (generic for Alesse) and I've heard a couple women tell me that this BCP actually didn't help at all and in fact, additional cysts appeared while using it. I've also been on Loestrin 24FE which made me gain 10 lbs and I've also been on Yasmin which made me really depressed and moody all the time.

Could you ladies please tell me which BCP's have worked for you in preventing additional cysts and which didn't?? Also, can you ladies tell me which ones didn't give you any side effects?? Right now, I'm thinking of Levora or Cyclessa after doing some research. It seems like they are fairly low-dose in Estrogen and Progestin, but additional feedback would be great!!

Mircette is one that is low dose and I didn't have a whole lot of side effects from it. I completely prefer Yasmin..but it can mess with your hormones a little...

welcome to sc, i cant use bcp myself, but i know some cysters are fine on it.All the best for your dr appointment. What i always do is write down everything that want to ask/say so i cant forget
