Default Newbie here saying Hello!

Hello, I was just diagnosed with PCOS about a month and a half ago. I knew something was really wrong for a while: my emotions and hormones were all over the place, i was having excessive pain in that region, i had gained about 15 pounds, and my skin went from smooth and clear to worse than anyone I ever knew at age 15. Finally, after seeing the look on my Gyn's face when I had an ultrasound, I knew I had PCOS. In one way it was relieving because I felt like I finally had an answer, but in another way it was scary because there was so much I didn't know about PCOS. My Gyn put me on the pill - Yaz becuase its supposed to help to clear up skin. So I am about a month and a half into taking the pill and while I feel like my hormones are a little more in balance, my skin is still as bad it's ever been. I'm wondering if I should be on some of the other things out there like Metformin, etc. Can anyone share their experience with getting their clear skin back?

Hi there-
I'm sorry that I don't have any info./experience with yaz either. I was diagnosed in April with Insulin Resistance and have been taking Metformin since the beginning of May. I feel fortunate that my skin for the most part cleared up after being on birth control and continues to be clear. My worst problem is the oil...I feel greasy all the time.

I wish you luck on your journey. I hope that cs will help you and give you some comfort. I'm learning more each day.
