Newbie here..Would love some advice Hello Everyone, I am a 33 years old from Virginia Beach, VA and I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS, I went to my gyn about 2 years ago due to my AF being very light (only having it for 1-3 days) and he took an ultrasound and said one of my ovaries is covered in cysts and my other one is very small. At that time I didn't really understand what that meant and never heard the words PCOS come from his mouth. He ended up doing a biopsy and came to the conclusion that I was still OVing. Well since then my DH and I went for a preconception appointment and saw a different Gyn. He gave me a pap and pelvic and ended up getting back the results that everything is okay. Needless to say he told me from looking at my ultrasound and telling him about my AF being only 1-3 days he said I have PCOS. He told me that it might be very hard to get PG, he said just continue to do the BMS for about 6 months and if nothing happens come back and he will talk alternatives. Well I have heard a lot of women have been put on Metformin and was wondering if that would help me? I have a majority of all the symptoms of PCOS, although my doctor for years have been telling me I have Thyroid problems so I have been on Synthriod. Although my levels have been normal, I have a goiter and that's what makes my doctor believe I have thyroid problems however all the symptoms I have are PCOS symptoms. I am just not sure what to do, I am TTC and so eager too just like everyone else. I have recently had the lap band procedure done and am trying to lose weight but even with that being done it is still hard. Should I contact my doctor and see about something else that can be done? I don't know what to do or where to start. Just frustrated..I order some of the OV tests and was wondering if anyone else has used these? Thanks for listening... |
