Default Newbie Intro

I joined the boards last year when I was first diagnosed with PCOS, but haven't visited the forums much since then. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to do an intro, but figured since I'll be visiting this section the most, it would be a good start.

I'm 28 y/o, diagnosed with PCOS late last year. I have 2 children, have had 3 miscarriages. I'm severly overweight, 310 lbs 5'6". I've always been overweight, but was healthy and carried my weight well. Now I'm having shortness of breath, my b/p has been elevated for the last couple of months. I don't have diabetes, high cholesterol, etc, but if I don't get this weight off, it's only a matter of time.

Tomorrow I start with a trainer and I'm nervous. I can barely walk from the car into the house without being out of breath. So I'm scared that I may not be able to do much. But I'm going to do it this time. I have to.

Hope to get to know everyone better and wishing each of you all the success in your diet and exercise efforts.

You can do it! Starting with a trainer is a step in the right direction. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you progress and improve on your level of fitness!

I just wanted to pop in and say congrats on taking a step in the right direction. I truly wish you the best of luck. Just remember you are doing this to make yourself better and healthier.
It can be a hard road to follow, but you will have the best results in the end as long as you keep going.

Thank you for the encouraging words. As you said it's a hard road to travel, but so worth it. It's only day 2 for me and it's been tough to say the least. But I keep telling myself, the many rewards that I'm going to get will out weigh this hard work I'm putting in.

Anything worth having is worth fighting really hard for...you can do it regardless of how you feel now you will only get stronger with time. Keep at it!!!
