Hi! I just found the site & decided to join b/c it seems wonderful!
On March 26 I went to the gyno b/c my period was a month late again & the nurse told me that when she looked at the ultrasound i had in September that she could see that i had cysts ... only my doctor didnt tell me this then. I started taking Loestrin24 on April 8, after having a AF that lasted a whopping two days. My gyno didnt do any sort of bloodwork or anything, and I'm wondering if this is normal or not? My insurance ran out the end of March, so the nurse that informed me that i had PCOS told me to just take the bcp for 3 months and then to go to the health department. i have never had regular periods, they usually lasted a really long time and caused terrible cramps, but I had a miscarriage last July & ever since then they are sparse. Could this be related? It just seems strange to me that I had never missed one before, I had ultrasounds before to check for cysts & they were always normal. (or so my dr says, I dont know that I should believe her now since she told me everything looked normal in Sept!!)
Anyway, thats is my story. I just wanted to check in and say hello & give a little info about me.
ETA - I just noticed you are from Maryville, I have a dear friend who lives in Maryville, and my best girlfriend lives in Jefferson City. TN is so beautiful!

My amazing daughter, Arianna, was born January 28th, 2008.
Just wanted to say hello and welcome. It's unfortunate that so many dr's are unable or late to diagnose and give enough info about pcos. I hope you can find some answers here and find a doc who will help you as well.
