Default Newbie, metformin bringing on af within 2 weeks

Hi I'm a newbie. Diagnosed with pcos last month. I had my last af 2 weeks ago but it was very light and only 2 days. Started metformin straight away and now I have an af again it is heavy but little or no cramping. Is this normal and a good sign or should I be worried?
I'm on 500 mg of metformin twice a day. My theory is that the lining hasn't shed properly in a long while and thats why af is here so soon but I probably didn't ovulate which I think I was before I started on metformin. Since September 2008 I have had 4 af's since coming off bcp one after 21 days, 2nd after 96, 3rd after 36 and then the last one after 64 days. I have no proof I ovulated on any of these cycles apart from charting temp etc. I am waiting for blood test results from 7dpo(suspected dpo) on last cycle. Any advise ?
