Hello everyone,
I have been lurking around on here for a year now. You guys are AWESOME!! It's good to know I'm not alone in the world...and there are many inspirational stories.
Here's a quick rundown on me...I am 30 years old. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21 years old. I have all the classic symptoms that go along with it. I am 5'7 and 305 pounds. As you all know...it has been pretty much impossible to lose weight. I have tried EVERYTHING! I have decided after alot of thought that WLS surgery is a must for me.
So here is my question: Anyone out there familiar with the Duodenal Switch? I was pretty set on the RNY, but the DS seems to have a more long term weight loss reputation. If you are IR is it still successful? I feel so overwhelmed with all the info out there. Some people do well, some people don't. I am not a big eater...portion control is not my issue. All the weight makes it hard to even walk far, and I need to get to the point where I can MOVE!! I just want to be as HEALTHY as possible.
ANy help and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Laura
