Default Newbie needs advice!

Hi all, I am new here and i need some advice. I will give you the background about me first. I am 24, was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 16. Myself and my husband have been TTC for 5/6 years. I am overweight, i weigh in at 15 stone and am 5ft5. I recently stopped smoking and am in genraly good heath. I have been going to GP for many years asking for help and to start with was just told i was to young to be worrying about it and i should just let nature take its course etc. At this time i weight aprox 12 stone and i didnt have any periods at all maybe once a year if that.
Anyway, I left it go and just tried to get pregnant on our own. Last year i changed Gp's and My new doc refered me to a specialist. On the first visit to the specialist i weighed in at 15.10 stone and i was told i had to loose a stone to a stone and a half and she would consider me going onto clomid if i done that and quit smoking. This was last sept i was given the next appointment date for the start of jan this year so i had to loose that weigh over xmas and new year and give up fags! Not an easy task. So i set about doing what she asked and i managed to get down to 14 and a half stone cut my smoking down from 20 a day to only 2! I had a miserable xmas not being able to pig out and i felt physicly sick with worry that i wouldnt have lost enought o get the clomid that i so desperatly wanted and needed. Also in that time i had managed to get my cycle back and was have a cycle of 16 days long, which after years of nothing was a relief.
So my appointment came around and went to the specialist, i was weighed first and the nurse was very nice and said well done for loosing the weigh over xmas and new year and that i should be proud. So i was confident that the specialist would say the same. When she saw me, she wasnt even the same one i had seen last time and she looked through my file and said yes i had made a effort with the weigh loss but it wasnt good enough and i hadn't stopped smoking as i had agreed. It was like a kick in the guts. I couldnt belive what i was hearing, she said that i need to loose another stone to stone and ahalf before she will treat me and i need to regulate my cycle as now i am having to many peiods! I sat there and cried and begged her to give me the meds but she said that overweight women dont respond to chlomid and i would be wasting my time.
Since that appointment i have been told to go for a HyCoSy test but whenever i try they are fully booked and i can only do it on certain days of cycle so i am still waiting. But i have to have that before she will give me the medication too. I have not totally given up the cigs and i am fag free for 3 weeks and i know i wont go back on that ever! I am now just struggling to loose any weight at all, i am just putting it back on. I feel stressed as i have an appoint, ent at start of may and i have to of lost the weight. I feel i have been let down by the doctors every step of the way and if i had been given the meds at the start of this, when i was alot lighter then i would have my much longed for child now and i wouldnt have to go through all of this.
Sorry for the rant, i just feel so angry about it. Has anyone else suffered like this in the uk? I feel totally alone in this battle. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Hi Kerry-lou,

I am not in the UK, I don't even know what a stone is, but I wanted to say....

to Soul Cysters.

Congrats on the weight loss, and congrats for stopping smoking. It is a difficult addiction to overcome, but your body will THANK you, and you future babies will THANK you.

I wish you the best of luck as you continue to lose weight, and TTC. You never know, if you get your body healthy enough, you just might starting Oing without fertility meds, and then you won't need your docs permission to get PG.
