Newbie not diagnosed yet Hi,
I am 30 years old. I have had PCOS symptoms since puberty in hindsight. I had irregular, heavy painful periods as a teenager. I had a few chin hairs since then (I now have tons of facial hair, that I pluck regularly) as well and started getting hair in between my breasts and under my belly button. After I was married I had heard of PCOS and suspected it, but we started to TTC and have since had 3 children without a problem. I guess I just got used to the symptoms. I wasn't overweight before but now am 220lbs. and can't loose it. I have acne and am thinning on the top of my scalp badly (I wear a Christian head covering though so that helps).
Recently since my last daughter was born and my periods returned they were HEAVY (and have been for a year now) and at the time of my drs appointment I had been spotting a couple of days inbetween cycles (that was the only time that that had happened before). My Dr sent me for an US and I got scared the lady had found something wrong because the scan seemed to take a while and after she was done she said "I'm just going to talk with another tech and see if she is thinking what I'm thinking". I started to research on the internet what might be wrong with me and was terrified it was cancer. I came across PCOS and started to think maybe this was something I had.
Anyway I have had my free testosterone checked and it was "normal". I have an appointment next wednesday to get the results of my US. I'm going to talk to my dr about PCOS then.
