Hi! I'm new. And I am loaded down with questions... I've seen a few people with this or that problem, and boy oh boy do I finally feel like I fit in somewhere.
My main question is... does anyone else have pain during sex? Like when the penetration is deep? I have been getting cramps lately kinda like period cramps at the very base of my stomach whenever it's close to deep. It's making it to where I dont want to have sex, but I dont know how to explain it to my husband as I've always been a very sexual person up to this point... I read somewhere I think that maybe I've got a large cyst... so another part of the question is we are in the process of moving hubby is already in AZ and I'll be there soon as he finds a place that will take our dogs, do I need to goto a doctor NOW or can it wait? (Hubby has our car to so I'd have to take a taxi)
Also, I noticed a post awhile ago about darkness under the armpits, and I read it but nothing really said much... has anyone found a reason and/or a fix to this problem? I thought at one time I wasn't washing well enough, and for a period of about a month was so obsessed I was rubbing it raw in the shower (yes it was painful!)
Any information anyone can give I would sooo very much appreciate even if it's just a tiny bit of info!
Since I was dx'ed I seem to have pain at entry, not any deeper. I although have read that the pain can be caused by a condition called vulvadina (spelling) or by cysts. This is something you should talk to the doc about. She/he can find out the real reason why your having pain. I mean, come one its like the best thing in life, why should it hurt!!
About the darkness, its a condition called athicris nicrans, (spelling yet again!!) which is caused by extra insulin depositing on the skin. Some cysters had postive results by Low-Carbing and losing weight. I think it is a matter of getting your insulin in check.
Sorry I could not more of a help, maybe the other wonderful cysters have more information. Again, welcome to sc the most addictive site on the web. No question is too embarrassing or off base! GL!

Thanks so much for replying already! I dont even know how to ask anywhere else, and figured I might as well throw myself at the mercy of everyone here with my questions... and hope that no one thinks I'm insane...
I've got to agree with you! This site is the best site I have ever seen, I've been here for three hours already! I've had tears in my eyes more than once, because for the first time, I think I've found people that understand!
My husband gets kinda uncomfortable when I talk about various things... but one thing I've seen is that alot of my problems are all connected, in ways I never thought, that other people with PCOS have the same darn problems!
I did the low carb diet thing, and I lost about 30 pounds in about 3 months, which was great, however I stopped because of pain meds I'm on due to a back problem when I started retaking for pain stopped the weight loss completely. I didn't see a change in the armpit darkness thought, but you better believe I will bring it up with a doctor...
I wouldn't say that I have cramping, but I've let out a scream a few times because of deep pentration that resulted in hitting the base of my cervix. Your symptoms sound like there is something different causing the cramps.
The dark spots are called acanthosis nigricans or AN for short. The way AN was explained to me is my body has become desensitized to insulin so my pancreas just keeps making more until my body finally responds and utilizes it. The excess insulin spills over into the skin causing the thickened ridges and discoloration. Mine are a tan color under my arms, on the back of my neck and in the groin area. It's embarassing to me and I never wear my hair up or wear sleeveless outfits.
It did almost disappear completely (except in the groin area) after 3 months of low carbing and losing 30 pounds but it came back when I started eating carbs again. I recently read an article that said AN in women is most commonly found in the groin area in addition to other areas like neck, armpits, under the breasts, etc.
I used to believe the using Clearasil on the patches lightened it because of the salycic acid in it. The patches came back though after I stopped low carbing even though I was still using the Clearsil and that's when I realized that it was the low carb diet fading them.
Some have said that metformin has helped regulate their insulin and as a result lightened the spots to some degree. I'm not on metformin though.
It seems to me from my experiences and reading those of others that losing weight and watching carb intake and keeping insulin levels balanced are the biggest factors in making the spots lighten or go away. After all, the less insulin spilling into your skills means less noticeable spots.
Hey, just to let you know...I had pain during sex, but it was from a regular cyst that had grown quite large. It made for very uncomfortable sex for me!
I had laparascopy to remove the cyst (the pain was just brutal) and I haven't had a problem since.
OH, by the way...don't worry about TMI around here. We discuss LOTS of stuff.
Also, don't be afraid of using the search feature...IT'S TERRIFIC! There's lots of older posts around here that may have the info. you're looking for...
Good luck and welcome!
