Default Newbie....and question

Hello:

I'm new here on the boards and have tons of questions, but I'll only ask one for now.

Just a little background on me. I have only been diagnosed with PCOS for about 6 months, eventhough I haven't had what I like to call a "natural" period in almost 6 years. I have had three brought on by Provera, and 1 brought on by birth control during this time. I take 500mg of Metformin and am going to see an endo in two weeks.

I am extremely overweight, much to my neverending frustration. I try to get in 30 minutes of exercise daily, and I eat a very low card, high protein type diet. I am very careful what I eat probably 90% of the time. I still keep gaining weight though.

During my last visit to my PCP we talked briefly about weight loss surgery. I have attened information sessions and have done LOTS of research on all the different types, etc. He seemed to think this was a viable option, but wanted me to go ahead and see the nutritionist I'd already made an appointment with anyway. I am going into the appointment with the nutrionist with a slightly bad attitude, only because I know that I have been eating very well and even tracking my food.

So, my question is this...have any of you ladies had WLS and how successful have you been with it?

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the board!

If you click on this link it will take you to an information post about WLS - scroll down and towards the end of the post is a link to a "buddy" thread on the diet and exercise buddies forum where you can talk to people who've had WLS and had success, and those, like you, who might be thinking about it!

If you have any problems finding the thread post here again and I'll try to find a direct link for you
