My Mood: Points: 960.64 Bank: 1,498.07 Total Points: 2,458.71 | newbie questionsss I just got out of the hospital for PCOS related problems. I just got diagnosed and i am pretty scared actually.
I just started Yasmin, and am set to go on spirosomething [diuretic] and metformin next week.
i have chronic pain in my ovaries and was wondering if that will go away when the medication starts? I've heard different things about the medications, some people say that the metformin changes their life, and others say it makes them miserable.
I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with these meds?
and I was also wondering about exercise and pcos. I am [was] a cross country runner, but lately every time i try to run i get really sore? I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and has any advice for me.
thanks guys |

My Mood: Points: 2,275.06 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,275.06 | i was on yasmin for almost a year for my period and at a checkup it showed that my blood pressure was 160/100 and it's supposed to be 120/80...so they took me off of it because it was so bad. and I've been on metformin for almost a year..i started excercising when i started it but nothing really helped me but after i got some real determination(homecoming dresses next year) i decided that i needed to push myself and REALLY try to excercise so i'm doing the insulin resistance diet and i'm trying to excercise at least 3 times a week..if not more. i don't run because i've always been big and i just don't/can't run..haha but you know..we all do things differently. I try to do the Jillian Michales workouts..they're pretty intense let me tell you..but you can get them at a local wal-mart or whatever and i usually have pain..but that pain is just from me being sooooooo out of shape! oh and honey, don't be scared..it's not a scary thing..it can deffinitely be scary at first and at other times you just have to make it afraid of you to help make yourself better!! welcome to sc!

What kind of soreness are you having?
I take met and spiro when I think about it (bad I know) But I've never taken Yasmin
Exercise is good for everyone, regardless of PCOS, I try to exercise everyday!
Drink lots of water ( but you are going to be peeing a lot as it because of spiro)!

My Mood: Points: 960.64 Bank: 1,498.07 Total Points: 2,458.71 | actually my pain has died down a lot. The only time im still sore is after i do an ab work out, or if i sit bent over for long periods of time. The best way to describe it woudl be twinges? halfway between sharpness and acheyness. I am hoping that as my ruptured thing heals itself the pain will continue to calm down.
Thank you for the advice and the welcomes : ).
