Wow!!! Thanks for taking the time to compile this info. Hate to admit my age, but I was DX ~30 years ago with Stein-Leventhal Syndrome. I had no idea there was more than one type of PCOS. Not sure which category I fall into. With all the info I'm gleaning from this forum, I'll have some more educated questions for my Endo in a couple of weeks.

thanks you for this thread!!! this is really helpful considering that i just got diagnosed with PCOS by my ob-gyn and i'm planning to go see an endocrinologyst soon.

"Thank you" is right. I am so glad I happened upon this site. I have had the symptoms of PCOS my entire life and was only just diagnosed this week. It is comforting to know I am not the only one who has apparently had a string of inept doctors. Although, it is disturbing to discover that these people we have trusted with our medical well-being could be so clueless. I am sure I am not the only one who feels a sense of betrayal, but at least now I know what I am up against, and that I am not alone.
I look forward to visiting this site often, and I thank you again for all the information.
