Here are some questions with answers to get you started on your PCOS treatment journey. Kat (the owner of this site) has been researching PCOS for years, and these links are mostly ones she has posted. Since most newbies have the same questions, I thought a road map might help.
What do all these abbreviations and medical terms mean?
wow - you put in some time for this! good job! I am sure the newbies will appreciate it!

Wow!!! Thanks for taking the time to compile this info. Hate to admit my age, but I was DX ~30 years ago with Stein-Leventhal Syndrome. I had no idea there was more than one type of PCOS. Not sure which category I fall into. With all the info I'm gleaning from this forum, I'll have some more educated questions for my Endo in a couple of weeks.

"Thank you" is right. I am so glad I happened upon this site. I have had the symptoms of PCOS my entire life and was only just diagnosed this week. It is comforting to know I am not the only one who has apparently had a string of inept doctors. Although, it is disturbing to discover that these people we have trusted with our medical well-being could be so clueless. I am sure I am not the only one who feels a sense of betrayal, but at least now I know what I am up against, and that I am not alone.
I look forward to visiting this site often, and I thank you again for all the information.

I'm new here to be exact this is my first day... I too was recently diagnosed with PCOS (March 2007) by my ob-gyn and it completly turn my life upside down. Just a month before I got engaged so now I'm planning a wedding and a family all at one time! At first I was upset, often asking the question, "WHY ME?" but now I am slowing finding peace by being a member of site. I am not alone anymore and that's feels good to know that "I AM NOT ALONE!" Thank you for this thread and god bless you for all your hard work with findind us answers.....

I'm so glad that I found this site! I was diagnosed with PCOS today although I was pretty sure already. I just took my first dose of metformin so hopefully it will help and I won't get too sick...
We're glad you've found us, too!
