I am new here, and although I have had this for quite some time, I just accepted it and felt like I was the only one since i didn't know of anyone around me with it. I really didn't tell anyone... and was embarassed about it. But now with a site like this I see many people are going thru the same things that i do, and I do not feel so alone.
so just started here and trying to figure it out im having ovarian drilling done soon and would like to here from some one who has had it done or any other kind of info thanks
Hi Sisters,I'm new to this site and new to our disorder. If someone could tell me the definitions to all the abbreviations used on here that would be so very helpful! Thanks Ladies!
Hi my name is Dana
I'm 45 and a SAHM
I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years ago when I was going thru fertility treatment.
Once I became PG and delivered my child my OBGYN has no longer treated the PCOS ...she wasn't the dr. to diagnose it.
I was Diagnosed by an RE then sent back to my OBGYN when I became PG
I have tons of questions
and really hoping the ladies here can give me answers.
1. How do I get my OBGYN or GP to treat the PCOS?
I was on glucophage before the PG. and it really did clear up alot of my symptoms, and I feel it would help me with alot of my weight issues.
2. I have gained alot of weight my face is beginning to break out again.
stray little hairs are showing up again on my face and neck. Is there any thing I can do to control symptoms w/o the meds?
Diet? I have heard a Glcemic Index diet can help?
I would suggest returning to your reproductive endocrinologist. Most gyns that I know treat PCOS. Some, like myself, spend more time with this condition. If you cannot return to your RE and your gyn will not help with such things as checking insulin levels and other hormones, find a new gyn!
Hello~ my name is Angelia. I work in in a ob/gyn office and hear PCOS tossed around all the time. Well today was my day for my 6m follow up with one of my providers in the office and guess what 2 minutes before I was to go in the room my period decided to come- has been 62 days now- and today it decide to show. Anyways me and my Provider had a talk visit to say the least and with all my signs and symptoms she really feels I have PCOS- so she has ordered me some blood work to include a insulin resistance test. My Pcp has been suspecting this for a year or two -(IR). I can know almost put since to my whole life just from looking up the sign and symptoms. I always wondered why and how to control the extra hair growth- that is my biggie that bothers me- at least I know why now. We are going to check my levels and stuff- she said maybe put me on Metformin- maybe would help with , weight and the hair issues, irregular periods etc. Well I am rambling - just wanted to introduce myself !
