Hello I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1999. Didn't find out until later that I was probably having symptoms of it when I was 14 or 15. I would throw up every five minutes (first time) and had to go get a shot to quit throwing up. The doctor said if it happens the next time we will run test. Well it happened again and again no test were ran. But I finally got diagnosed by a OB oh about 9 years later. At first the hair was not that bad and my weight would go up and down. Then the hair started getting darker and thicker on my chin, neck, upper lip, and side burns area. I have hair on my stomach, breast, and behind. But the place I worry about most is my face because people see it. My first doc gave me Vanica (I thinlk thats how it is spelled) but it smelled bad so I quit using it. I take Metformin 500mg 2x a day.
Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS eight years ago and just found this. Thank you very much.
after being diagnosed we spend much time in prayer and two years after taking progesterone we were pregnant. My dr. told me at the time that the cure for pcos was pregnancy so I thought I would never see this again. Three years later we had another baby with no problems so I truly thought this was over. I do have regular periods but I have terrible mood swings, depression, hair falling out, developed allergies, loss of libido, terrible oral acne, other skin problems, and terrible anger, also dealing with sugar issues. I can't lose weight and I have lost so much energy. I don't feel like doing much of anything. And that is not like me I love to exercise. I talked with my dr. and with no blood test at all he just said yes you still have this and put me on yasmine and spironolactone. I can tell that the spiron. is working but the yasmine not so much. I am not a fan of birth control anyways. I went to a new dr. today and she did take blood test but wanted to add an antidepressant to me as well. But I have done that before to and it doesn't help just supresses everything. I have been told today about Vitex. Can you take this along with spironolactone. I have read where it will contradict the B.C. but I can't find anything on the other. And is vitex really good. Thank you so much. I am actually quite discouraged right now and very scared about my health.
