Default Newbie with sad streak
Hi everyone!! Im glad i found a PCOS board. My name is Carmen, Im 25, married for 2 1/2 yrs and I have PCOS. I have been diagnosed for i think 2 yrs now but the doctors say that I had it a long time but never had it diagnosed before. I was used to having crazy menstrual cycles so I never thought anything about it. I had a misscarriage at a month when I was only 3 months married, thats when I was first diagnosed w/ PCOS. Well, I really dont know much about it but I still havent gotten any treatment. Well, hope to get to know all of you better.

Dx PCOS 10/2003.
TAC placed 6/28/07 at University of Chicago.

Moving on to IVF after a year of infertility and 3 Femara cycles. Lupron started on 7/27.

There are five different types of PCOS

Stein-Leventhal syndrome, polycystic ovaries, sclerocystic ovaries, polycystic ovarian disease, PCOS, PCOD, PCO, anovulation with hyperandrogenism

# traditional PCOS -- anovulatory, increased androgens, no insulin resistance
# endocrine syndrome X -- anovulatory, increased androgens, insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes
# non-traditional PCOS --anovulatory, normal androgens, obese, insulin resistant or type 2 diabetes
# non-traditional PCOS -- ovulatory, increased androgens, mild insulin resistance
# idiopathic hirsutism -- ovulatory, increased androgens, no insulin resistance
