My name is Alison. I'm a 23 year old college student. I was diagnosed when I was 17 with PCOS. I'm trying to get a hold of my life. I would like to start off by saying to the creators of this website that I think you guys are wonderful in helping people like us
I'm 5'5 and weight about 220. this also goes up and down a lot. I was not a big fan of glucophage (I probably spelled that wrong) the pill was huge and it made me sick. I took it for about a month and then told my doctor that I couldn't take it anymore because all I felt like doing was either sleeping or getting sick. I'm on the birth control yasmine.
I also think i might have vaginismus. I've been doing some research and just made another appt to see my obgyn to see if I can get this taken care of. Maybe its all in my head I don't know lol.
I look forward to talking to each of you
Feel free to im me if you wish
Have a great day everyone
~Alison~

Welcome to SC. You've come to the right place to learn about PCOS.
Did your doc ever suggest MET XR? A lot of cysters have luck with the extended release vs the regular.
Hi there! I'm also 23, but I was diagnosed a few weeks ago. I'm on Metformin 500mg twice a day, and still feel pretty bad every day. I can't wait for my hormones to stablize so I can feel human again!
Just thought I'd say hi and welcome you to the board. I'm trying to lose weight too, and it's been a big struggle for me over the past few years. Good luck and nice to talk to ya!
