Unhappy Newbie to Soulcysters

I was diagnosed with PCOS on Oct 2008. I weighed approximately 250 lbs. I started taking Metformin and zoloft. Currently I am down to 229lbs. I have lost all sex drive. I thought it was because of zoloft because it has that kind of side effect. I stopped taking it. I got extremely angry and depressed. I am thinking about changing to Wellbutrin. Anyone have any luck with it? I have to get help. Off of zoloft, I get really depressed and suicidal. I need help with my sex drive as well. Please help.

Hi i'm new to this site, but your post caught my attention. I was on Zoloft and had no sex drive, and it worsened my depression/created suicidal thoughts. I could pinpoint the lowest point in my life being on Zoloft. At first, I loved it, and suddenly everything was wrong and I think my serotonin levels were just messed up. I am now on Metformin, and it has definitely been difficult to deal with the nausea/stomach side effects. Stay strong!

I hope you find something that works for you! I have heard Wellbutrin works wonders, but every person is different of course!

Welcome, and sorry you are having a hard time right now. I have no sex drive either but no depression for me. I know it sucks to hear, but "they" say exercise does help with seratonin levels and if you keep losing weight (congrats on what you have done so far!) perhaps your sex drive will come back? Who knows. Sorry I don't have more insight on the antidepressants
