I wanted to introduce myself and tell you my story:
I have been off the pill and TTC for 12 months now. I went to my OB last July for PCOS and other tests. Everything came back negative. She RX me Clomid and I conceived in Aug. I miscarried at 8w on 11-1-08.
I decided to see an RE after my MC and after numerous tests he found I do have PCOS. I started my Met this weekend, and will do provera and clomid again in March. I'm confused and scared b/c all my OB tests said neg for PCOS and then initially my RE tests came back negative too? He said my hormones were still out of whack from the pregnancy so the tests he did then were not 100%.
I have had acne and tummy weight put on since coming off the pill last year. That is about it for my symptoms besides having irregular cycles and not always O'ing too.
I am hoping the meds will help me lose some lbs in my tummy area, clear up my acne, and obviously most importantly I can get pregnant again. I feel hopeful that will happen since I got preg on my first round of clomid but still worried......
Anyone care to share if they lost any lbs in their tummy and how much and how soon after starting the met? I only have about 8-10 lbs I'd like to lose but before no amt of diet or exercise were helping me!

I've been taking Metformin. I was also hoping that it would clear up my acne and help me loose some pounds. I'm assuming that you'll probably clear up your acne a bit as mine has reduced. Im not sure about the weight. I guess each person reacts differently on Metformin. I'm also taking Clomid.

Anyways, Welcome to the forum, and i hope that you feel very welcome here.

My tests were all negative for PCOS too, but I have had the tummy fat and acne since coming of the pill nearly 2 years ago now. I am about to start Clomid, but havn't been offered Metformin, what is this and how does it work?
