I found this site while on my journey through endless articles about PCOS and Endometriosis. I was diagnosed on September 18 of this year. However, I believe that I have had PCOS since I started my cycle when I was 13.
I am 26 now and have 2 wonderful children. I conceived my son, almost 5, after being on BC and conceived my daugter, almost 2, after 3 rounds of clomid.
We would like to have another child within the next year and have been told already that we will probably have to be on clomid for that as well. My husband is being very supportive about the whole thing. I don't really know what I think, yet. I HATED clomid, but it could have been, too, that my hormones were already screwed up and the clomid was making my swings worse.
I am currently on natural progesterone and phosphatidyl serine and I'm already noticing a difference on my outlook in general. My midwife is going to try this approach for a few months and then we will see what needs to be done.
I don't think I have an extreme case by far, but I guess it's enough to really screw my hormones up and make me completely irregular.
Like i said, I really don't know what I feel about all of this yet. I'm just trying to soak it all in. What are my options after I am done having kids? Should I just have them taken out? I know that the Endometriosis gets worse...does PCOS as well?
personally my pcos has - it went for 7yrs undx which is nothing compared but im not sure about the others welcome thoughxx xx

I'm 42 and just treated. I was actually diagnosed in 2001 but my G.P. "pooh-poohed" the idea of my have a "sugar problem." Yeah. So, after another 5 years of sufferring, I'm finally being treated for the PCOS.
BTW, my current Dr. absolutely cannot believe I wasn't given Met back in 1996 when they noted glucose impairment. He stated that "regardless of the PCOS, that would have been the treatment for glucose impairment." I thought I had been going crazy with all of these strange things happening to my body.
I'm so happy that others are getting an early diagnosis - this way, they can identify the problem and be treated and take precautions for their families. I would not think that a removal of ovaries or hysterectomy solves this problem as many ladies don't have cystic ovaries but have PCOS. This would be something to ask a really qualifed physician and to do some research on -- especially if you are considering hormone replacement therapy. It's a lot to think about...
