I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS this month April 2007. I always knew something was wrong. The three years of no periods and the excessive body hair, u all know the symptoms too well I'm sure. I found this site and feel that it is a total blessing because too few people know about the disease and to my knowledge, im the only out of my friends that has it. PCOS is the cause for a lot of my emotional baggage. It has caused me to become a "home body." I hardly ever want to go out with my friends because they all have great figures and flawless skin. While me on the other hand have a BMW (Body Made Wrong). I wouldn't say I was overweight but I have a medium frame, with a ridiculously big tummy and don't get me started on the acne that has plagued me since I was 12. I've learned to deal with it over the years, burying myself with work and school, but I eventually I break down . Anyway, I won't continue to rant just needed somewhere to vent.
Just a few words of encouragement from anyone who feels my pain will help a great deal. Pray for me as I pray for you.
Thanks in advance!
Kris

Hi Kris, I'm Melissa. And I know how you feel about not wanting to go out and that you are a home body now. My finacee wants me to go out and have fun with him but I never want to and I hate not to because I know he wants to go out and have fun. Having PCOS has really impacted my life as well. I am always depressed and hate going through this but this site has really given me hope and all the cysters have given me great support. Yes I still have my bad days but that is when I log on and tell my cysters my problems of the day....lol....I will pray that you get to feeling better. Hope you have a nice day girlie. Feel free to PM me anytime.
Melissa

Just wanted to say hello and welcome. I definately know how you feel. It's great to finally be diagnosed, but ugg, it is hard on the self esteem. I feel like every single thing i hate and always have hated about my body is because of pcos, it seems like the most unfeminine condition you can have. I'm so glad i found this board though, not a lot of women i know in real life could relate to so much of what i'm going through. Good luck to you, i'm sure you will find lots of great info and women here.

I just joined SC a few days ago and have already felt the "family" style welcome! Im still new to all of this, and trying to work through my own emotional differences from day to day, but I think everyone here is here for eachother!
Welcome to SoulCysters. I know how you feel about the BMW feeling. I'm surrounded by skinny gals and it's been hard for me to lose weight. I have gained a TON of support from the TTC and weightloss girls and I've been slowly working myself back! If I can do it anyone can.
I will keep you in my prayers... Enjoy your visit at SC!
