My Mood: Points: 948.10 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 948.10 | Newby! Hi Guys! I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I thought I was pregnant for about a month until the doctor did an ultrasound and found a large cyst instead of a baby. The cyst was producing hcg and causing all the tests to turn out positive! I was devastated....and I haven't had a period since March 6th and the doc said that my testosterone levels are really high and that's probably the reason. She put me on Metformin and said that it should regulate my cycles....gradually. She also told me that it may take awhile to conceive again. I asked her why was it so easy with Natalie (my 2 yr old) and she told me that I just got lucky! This is sad but I'm slowly adjusting to it....I know there's still hope in having another baby. Well, I just wanted to share things with you all and get to know some of you since we have something in common. : ) |

My Mood: Points: 346.67 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 346.67 | Diagnosed with PCOS today I was diagnosed with PCOS today. I'm pretty familiar w/what it is b/c my friend has it and has been letting me know of things she has gone through. The only symptom I have is not having a regular cycle. I am not having any other symptoms like acne, balding, excessive hari growth, etc. I do need to lose some weight though. I just picked up my rx for metroformin and I'm nervous to take it...dr. told me about the side affects. yukkk I am very anxious to get pregnant, can't say I've really been trying b/c I never knew about my cycle, when I was fertile and ovulating. I am 31, married, and ready to start a family. Any advice aboue any of this would be appreciated. thanks in advance! |

I just started met xr 500mg 3 days ago! i was so excited to get it. and in 6 weeks i will be adding clomid to met. in my 1st week i will be taking 500mg, 2nd will be 1000mg and 3rd will be 1500mg as long as my doc wants me to take it. I will say the best way i was told to take the met is with meals. eat half ur meal then take met then finish ur meal. and wathc ur carb intake while on met cause the more carbs u eat the worse side effects will be. that happens with alot of met ladies but not all. take care and lots of luck to u all. <3
