Smile ~*Newfoundland and Labrador Cysters*~/~*Fall 2007*~

Hi there,

We are a group of cysters from Newfoundland who have found a bond with each other through being gals with PCOS and being from"The Rock".

A few of us have been around for ages and some of us have just started to get to know one another.

We are open and accepting of all fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians living in the Province or those who have, like so many others, found themselves in some other part of the country for employment and other opportunities.

So.....to our regular girls......Welcome to our new thread for the Fall of 2007.....and .....if you are a Newfie, are related to a Newfie or even just know a "good ole" Newfie.....pull up a seat and let's get to know each other!

Kim congrats on the article....I hope that it brings about change. I heard that dr OGrady is a good dr there in St. Johns.

Welcome Logan!!

Dh and I r in the process of our IUI cycle. I've been doing cycle monitoring and it looks as though I have 3 mature follies ready for the IUI. One is 1.9 in size and the other 2 r only 1.6 in size. Grow follies Grow!! I'm hoping that the procedure will be done on Monday. Wish me luck ladies.

Hi Ladies,
Great to hear from everyone again.
Well I can't believe Sept is here. Where did the summer go?
Well my little girl McKenzie started grade 1 on Wed. She is loving it and is up every morning before me excited to go to school. I know it won't last, but right now I'm enjoying it.

Lesley, congratulations on the birth of your precious son Logan. That is fabulous news. I hope you are doing well and adjusting to motherhood.

Kim, that would be great to get your article in the paper. Please let us know when it will be in, I would hate to miss it. That is great you are doing something. You go girl!

Tracy, good luck!!!

How is everyone else. Are you are getting ready to settle into fall? (i'm not- lol)

Hi Girls,
I'm still here as well...also taking a TTC break. I am desperately trying to lose at least 30 lbs before and so far I've got 9 gone...I'm hoping that getting some weight off will help with the TTC.
I agree that it would be amazing if there was some coverage for IVF. Please keep us informed on you progress and if there's anything we can do to help...right girls?
TTYL!

Hi Ladies,

Thought I would jump over to this new thread. I am also in the process of trying to lose weight. I drop the car off to my husband after work and I walk home. It is a 45 minute walk. I did it for three weeks while his mom was off work (I pick her up after work as well). She has gone back to work and I thought that I wouldn't be able to do that anymore but she informed me last night that they changed her hours and that her husband can now pick her up from work so now I can go back to walking again. I am so happy. I love her to death but she drives me insane sometimes.

Hi Kim,
I read your letter in the Telegram. I thought it was excellent. Good for you!
My hats off to you for your courage to do it and to be the voice of so many couples in NL. I hope it is the start of some results.

Here is the address of the website:
www.thetelegram.com and click on letter to the editor on the left hand side.

I haven't heard of menopur yet? What is that? Is it a pill?
Do you see Dr. O'grady.

Again Kim, I think it is excellent that you spoke out!

Big Hugs!
Deena
(also in CBS)

Hi Deena,

Menopur is an injectible. I can't wait to try it. I do see Dr. O'Grady and she backs me up on the letters that I have been sending to the government. I was in to see her yesterday and she told me that they are seeing some really good results with the menopur. I am also trying to lose about 20-30 pounds. I drop my car off to my husband and walk home. It's about a 45 minute walk from his work. I just put in my earphone for my MP3 player and start walking.

YAY Kim!!...Excellent article!!
Even though I was blessed to be able to have my 2 girls after 15 years of TTC I still feel the pain of what those 15 years were like for my Husband and me!.....I FEEL what you and so many others are going through right now and I support you in this effort for funded IVF!!!
I will be praying that this Menopur is the answer for you and that you will be able to finally concieve and have a viable pregnancy!!
Good job on the walking also....I need that kind of motivation!

BTW!...I also feel that weightloss surgeries such as Gastric Bypass and "cosmetic" surgeries for weight loss such as Liposuction and other procedures should be funded or covered by insurance!
I have been so overweight for so many years that even if I were to loose a tremendous amount of weight I would probably have to deal with sagging skin and the like....I would love to know that if I decided on such a drastic approach to weightloss that it would be much less of a financial burden and YES it would even be a major factor in a decision to have the surgery!

CRAP!!...We PCOSers have so much garbage to deal with don't we?...All the more reason to come together in a spot like this and get it off our chests...agree?

Loves y'all bunches girlies....Chat later!
