Unhappy Newly Diagnosed

I have had PCOS for years now and been maintaining it with metformin. I just switched Dr.'s and she did a blood test and found "abnormal thyroid levels". I have an appointment on Thursday but I want to go in prepared. Is there anything I should know/ask? I'm not even sure where to begin. It's bad enough with PCOS but now this! Any advice would really be appreciated. I feel so overwhelmed.

Like I posted a moment ago in another thread ...

I didn't get REAL help until I went to the Endocrinologist. He put me on Synthroid for very low thyroid and Metformin for PCOS (although my blood sugar is perfect, he says I'm insulin resistant).

Another Dr. put me on Armour Thyroid and it did NOTHING. Thank God I went to the Endo and got on Synthroid.

I've lost 30 pounds in a month - that's a miracle in itself!

(Read my post: "Gynecological Oncologist" to read what I'm going through right now.)

Best Wishes,
Sherry in TX

This is true for me as well. I didn't get help for my thyroid until I went to an endocrinologist - and actually it was the 2nd person I went to - because I didn't like my first.

Once I started on Synthroid, I started to feel so much better... I didn't get the weight loss he was looking for, but it was less than a year after my thyroid treatment began that I conceived our baby due in March.
