Default Newly Diagnosed but Confused?

I was just diagnosed with PCOS on Friday because of the results of a internal ultrasound and my irregular periods. I've been ttc for about 14 months with no luck. On Friday the doc did a blood test to check my hormone levels and called me today to tell me that all my leves are normal. I'm confused because I don't have any of the typical signs/symptoms. All I have is pain in my left side from time to time and irregular periods but I do get one every month. Please help! Does anyone else have the same issues?

Hello and welcome.
Sorry I don't have the same issues - I have strange hormone levels, no periods, and IR. I know PCOS is very different for everyone. Did the dr give you any thoughts about why may be having difficulty ttc?

Hey there I was also recently diagnosed well six months ago, but have been going through tests. I have some normal hormone levels but they think that I have a low egg reserve but other than the PCOS they believe everything else is normal, we are still trying but trying to decide when to move on to other options.
Our dr made it sound like different labs consider different levels normal because he wouldn't let me get my blood tests done locally I had to make the trek to Seattle where their office and lab is.

I am the same as you. Bloodwork was all normal, except now that I think of it he said the fasting blood sugar was a little high, but I haven't had a period since stopping BCP (8 months) and have cystic ovaries. I am thin and have no other symptoms so doc labeled me just "ovarian dysfunction". I'm going to go see someone else next wk to see if I can get a more aggressive approach.

The dr is sending my husband for testing to check is hormone levels and if everything checks out with him the dr will start me on clomid.

When I spoke to the dr he stated that he thinks I have PCOS bc of the ultrasound but I don't have the any other signs/symptoms. I honestly don't think that I have PCOS bc from all the research I've been doing almost everyone diagnosed with it has a higher level of hormones. I'm going to look into the "ovarian dysfunction". I do have a period every month but it ranges from 32-37 days and once a year I miss a month. It's all so strange lol.
