Hi everyone... My name is Julie (Jules), I'm 31 and after what I believe was years and years of discomfort, yo-yo weight gain in the mid section, Foggy head/Zero concentration, Headaches, Anxiety, Depression, Mood swings, Hopelessness, Facial hair, Dark spots under my arms and a sister who underwent Cystic ovary surgery. I once again went for my yearly a week ago, with the Physcians Assistant at my Gyncologist office. This time she thought I might have some red flags for PCOS. She reviewed my blood tests, etc etc and symptoms (not to mention saw the random hairs on my body etc etc) and reviewed her findings with my Gyno (a great guy, who is one of 6 at the office...but by far the best and super sensitive and caring also.) just super tough to get to see him unless you're preggos or dying etc etc. Anyway, sorry for rambling...(I tend to do that a lot lately). So to make a long story short, he is positive I have PCOS and wants to see me to take it further. He already gave me Glucophage and spironolactone today...he had them called into my pharmacy. I'm nervous, I'm scared, I feel alone and am on the verge of tears nonstop. After doing a random search about PCOS, I am so happy, there is a message board. I felt so relieved when I read that I wasn't the only one with such embarassing symptoms. I hope to get to know all of you better...thanks for listening.

welcome to the world of pcos! Oh what a blessed thing we get to all have in common........Glad you'll be one of my cysters.
I was told of pcos last yr in april after probably close to 10 yr of no periods and them being insanely off and on, and probably close to 15 yrs of other symptomes of pcos, the mid area weight gain........and the apron bell i own oh lordy....oh sorry.....
Glad to hear you have a great dr to help you through this. We've all been down this road and we've all had our moments of just wanting to break down and cry. Which i'll tell you it's the best thing you can do. Make sure to communicate things to your husband as he's going to go through all of this with you as well. And he'll probably feel lost at times, just tell him you just need to cry. I do it to my husband all the time.
hope to catch you around blessed be and feel free to im me any time you need to

Well, I can promise you that you definitely arent alone here. I think you are very lucky to have found such a great doctor right away. For some of us (me) it took years. Also, I know with my diagnosis I found comfort in explaining what was happening to my body. I had gained 100 lbs in about a year and a half and I thought it was because I was lazy or something, but now, Ive lost almost 60 lbs after confronting my PCOS.
Welcome to soulcysters and I hope your journey here is exactly what you need.
