Hi everyone! I'm 23, and thin I think (5'6" and about 120lbs). I was just diagnosed with PCOS in September of this year after SO MANY issues with my period.
I got my period when I was 11. My entire life, it's been so sporadic...every 6-8 weeks, sometimes disappearing for 3 months or more at a time...then coming and being heavy, very painful. I miss work or school the first day usually. The only time it was normal was on birth control.
I'm worried for two reasons- 1. My ex and I (I'm glad it didn't happen now, because our relationship ended for the better) were TTC for almost a year...I used ovulation test kits which never showed ovulation, and I never conceived in almost 12 months.
2. My mother has a horrendous history with her reproductive/endocrine system. SH=he had severe endometriosis at a young age and after the birth of my brother (she was 26), she had precancerous cysts on her ovaries...they gave her a hysterectomy before age 30, and her endo was so bad that her fallopian tubes and ovaries were beginning to wrap around and adhere to her uterus. My horribly painful periods give my RE reason to suspect endometriosis as well. I have a consult for a laparoscopy in December.
I'm on Yaz which used to work well for me in the past, but this time around it's been breaking me out horribly and I'm very emotional
I feel like I have been dealing with these symptoms forever and I'm just so worried about conceiving a child (I want to before I am 30 if that special someone is in my life), and I'm worried about my health later because my mom has had such a rough road.
Anyone who can share their story and make me feel better would be great. This is my first post and I'm almost crying as I type this. Thanks
