Hello to all. I was just dxed in August with PCOS. My doctors have started me on metformin to try to regulate my menses (which have always been out of whack) and try to get me ovulating so that I can get pregnant. They have also alterred my meds since we're actively trying to get pregnant. Besides PCOS I also have Chron's disease (thank God metformin didnt affect my tummy!) hypertension, high cholesterol (the typical stuff that accompanies PCOS). Can anyone who is or has been on the Metforming therapy tell me their account on how long it took for the medicine to do its work?...Any and all info on the subject is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Met worked well for me. I had some improvement in my AF the first month after I started, but it was a couple months before AF got really regular. I got pregnant after 10 months of met.
I'm glad you are feeling well on the met and I wish you all the best as you ttc!
Hugs and babydust
Jenny

I'm not trying to ttc yet, but I've been on met since the end of July and my AF has been very regular, like clock-work. I don't think I have ever been this regular ever!! I don't get that pre-cramp warning anymore either. I just wake-up on the 2nd of the month and there it is! I'm still not use to being so regular yet. It surprises me everytime! lol I've heard a lot of cysters mention that met is what helped them get pregnant and swear by it. I'm sure you'll be great!! If you ever need a cyster to talk to, you can PM me anytime!!
Hiya and welcome to S/C
Met took a couple of months to regulate my AF, and apart from a wacky moment in July when it was 3 weeks late I've been regular for nearly a year. Met also did wonders for my acne, cleared up my skin something spectacular!
Look forward to seeing you around.
