Unhappy Newly typed TYPE 2

Hello Everyone

After being Type 1 (pre c-peptide test), for awhile, today I was told i'm Type 2. I actually produce TOO MUCH insulin.

Now that I know it's T2, I plan to have blood work done to determine if I have PCOS, I have many symptoms and my worries were brushed aside when I mentioned this to my GYN, who said my sonogram came back fine, showing no problems. Well, that didn't make me feel the most confident.

I am just wondering what other experiences similiar to mine were and what happened.

What should I expect when being tested for PCOS?

What is it like being Type 2, and having PCOS?

Please share, i'm feeling sort of lonely out there in this world of new discoveries and could use any feedback.

Thank you,
-CosmicSpell

Hello & Welcome
I was diagnosed with both PCOS & Type II diabetes in March 2000.
I must admit I was really scared at first, but 2 years later and with the help of metformin and a proper diet, I have not only shed some weight but my blood sugar is within normal limits.

It is a hard journey, but not unattainable. You have to keep a positive attitude because there will be somedays when you will feel depressed and wonder if everything you are doing is worth it.

I truly believe that your attitude is very important towards helping you deal with everything. Good luck to you, and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Well, I guess the good thing about being Type II and not Type I is that Type I's have to use insulin to regulate their bodies. Since you are Type II, you should be able to use pills.

Not too much to look forward to I guess, but hey, no shots until you decide to have babies maybe
