Default night sweats?

I just started having night sweats for the past week. My period came today, so could this be related (drop in estrogen)??? I really hope they go away soon, I have to wake in the middle of the night freezing and change out of my wet clothes. By the way, I'm 29 years old.

Hi tallblonde:

Night sweats happen for so many different reasons its kind of hard to tell if it is because of your menstrual cycyle. Is the temperature in your room comfortable, but not too hot? If the night sweats are not causes by an external source like the room temperature, it most definitely is internal. You might consider keeping a Night Sweats Diary - charting when they happen and what's happening with your body at the time (i.e. are you mid-cycle, are you on your period, did you eat anything different lately, are you stressed, etc.). That way, you can have a better ideal of what might be happening with you and your body.

Best wishes,
BK
