both, I sleep with a fan blowing on me all year long. As for hot flashes...all the friggin time! Although they have been better for me recently...but then I was on provera which is a hormonal thing and maybe that made it better, but normally I am like that. I think it does have something to do with hormones....sorry not much help, but you are def. not alone

Yes, I get both if I am not on metformin. I've even dreamed of getting nuked while having a nightsweat. Without Met they are off the charts intense to where I get anxiety with them. But with Met, from a scale of 1-10 they are a 2 maybe 2 times per week instead.

There's more to this than just testosterone hormone. If one is out of balance usually something in the progesterone/estrogen balance is off which will give hot flashes. If I rub progesterone cream on, it helps so much because I'm estrogen dominant and its a happy cream, just very expensive to get the kind that actually works.

I had horrible night sweats that absolutely soaked the bed sheets. You would have thought I ran a marathon with my hair dripping wet every morning. Since I have been on BCP, they have been fine. just a little moist between the knees

I used to get *horrible* nightsweats, to the extent that the whole bed would be soaked...

But since I've been taking Metformin, it doesn't happen that way! I very rarely get nightsweats, and when I do, it doesn't seem like anything abnormal.

I'm on Met and have been for a couple years, but I still go through phases of night sweats and hot flashes. It was really bad for a while, but then it seemed to stop all of the sudden. I felt out of whack all the way around and nothing had changed. Thankfully, they've eased off for a while. I would get so hot and sweat until I was soaked, then end up freezing in the morning because I was all wet.

I have had it too. I bought a mattress cover that said it was "cooling" or something like that. I don't know how it's supposed to be cooling- it just feels like a regular mattress cover, but I did notice that I wasn't waking up nearly as sweaty as before. I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Yep, I get hot flashes at night. Sometimes I'm sweaty, sometimes just HOT! I'm waiting for lab results from my gyn to see if we can try some kind of treatment. I asked him about bioidentical hormones and he poo-poo'ed the idea..
The only thing that helps a little is black cohosh. I have this little fan that can squirt water while it's blowing that I keep on my nightstand, but I usually forget to use it.

I'll be so glad when this perimenopause or whatever it is phase is over!!

Since recovering from ectopic PG, I have suffered from night sweats. It is to the point where I have to get up and shower. I thought these were just from time of the year down here and the climate. But from reading here, maybe it is more than that.
