Good question. I just started using Nioxin 2 days ago. It feels great on the scalp. Although I get some redness from the scalp thereapy that you leave in. What have you two noticed different since you started using it if you don't mind me asking?

scalp therapy isn't meant to be left in, it's meant to be rubbed into your scalp like a lotion, left on for at least 3 mins, then rinsed out.
i can't say i've noticed a difference due to nioxin for my thinning hair but i have friends who have.

My mom and I have been using Nioxin for a couple of years. I just use the shampoo and conditioner while Mom uses all the styling products as well. I know that my hair grows a lot faster, don't know that it's that much thicker, maybe a little. Mom swears that her hair is thicker, and it grows a lot faster for sure.

Hope that helps!!

Sara

I have been using nioxin for about 5 months or so and I have noticed an improvement. I am not losing as many hairs after a shower or when I do my hair. I like the feel of the therapy on my head, although the smell gets to my DH when we are showering together. I think it is invigorating.

Where can you find this? Can you get it a a local drugstore (CVS, walgreens, etc.), or do you have to go somewhere special? I'm getting desperate...don't want to lose any more!

You can usually find Nioxin at nice hairsalons too- like Mastercuts or Regis.

One word of warning ladies. My friend used nioxin for about a year...stopped using it and all of a sudden her hair was falling out. It looked like all the hair she grew AND THEN some fell back out because she stopped using Nioxin. If you're going to do Nioxin for the rest of your lives I think the benefits are awesome, but if you don't know if you will be able to, I wouldn't. This is not the only story I have heard about hair loss AFTER stopping Nioxin (or Rogaine! or any hair loss/hair growth products), my hairstylist told me if I was going to use one, that I should be prepared to use it for the rest of my life or face losing the hair that grew and more than that.

Just a warning!

hey, former hairdresser who went through some nioxin training..
theres no way you would lose more hair BECAUSe of using nioxin, it doesnt contain any drugs that cause hairgrowth, it merely keeps your scalp in the best condition to grow hair.

No, what I meant was losing hair after stopping it. That's what a stylist told me once but maybe she was mistaken? I mean, I don't want to use it for the rest of my life, but if my hair is going to fall out if I stop using it, then what's the point, you know?
