Thumbs down Nioxin making hair loss worse

Has anyone else noticed after using Nioxin that their hair fell out MORE? I thought it was just my imagination, but when I stopped using it, the hair loss stopped too. And when my bf tried it, his hair started falling out too. What gives?

Nioxin unfortunately isnt a miracle cure, you have to keep using it. when you stop using it, you will suffer hair loss, and that came straight from a nioxin representitive. it works for most people, but you have to keep using it because if your not using it nothing is stimulating your scalp

Hope that helped

No, I mean literally after the first use, my hair started falling out in handfuls. I gave it a try anyway, and kept using it for about 2 weeks, and every day my hair fell out more and more. I stopped using it, and now the hair loss has decreased dramatically. So my boyfriend tried it, and his hair immediately started falling out too after one use. There is something very wrong with that shampoo.

I think it might be making my hair loss worse as well. I have used it for a couple of months now. The tingling on my scalp has not lessened and I also find the shampoo/conditioner seem to be making me break out along the hairline.

Oh well. I guess I can use a cheaper shampoo again.

I wonder if these products don't dry the hair out too much causing it to break.

Also, I have never heard of anyone's hair coming out after ceasing to use it. I thought Nioxin was the preferred treatment system for exactly that reason. With Rogaine you lose whatever you gained once you stop treatment. I seem to recall Nioxin bragging that a hair shed would not recur upon stopping use of the product. I fear whoever told you that the hair would fall out is just trying to scare you into continuing to buy the product or to convince your customers to continue using it out of fear of losing even more hair.

I hate that it is not working for you guys but I love it. I has done great things for my hair. I stopped using it for while and I really did not notice anything. I do see improvements in the texture of my hair when I am using it because the testosterone has change the texture of my hair.

Interesting...I thought gluc was making me shed, but maybe it's that "textured/curly hair" Nioxin I've been using (brown bottles). I started both at the same time. I will switch to another kind and see, too.
