Hi, I just wanted to tell everyone about my experience so far with Nioxin.
I went to my hairdresser last weekend and was whining about my hair loss and she said I should try nioxin. I really trust her so I went out and spent I think $35 on a starter kit.
I started using it monday, and when I got out of the shower I had about 10x as much dandruff as usual which freaked me out, but every day it's been less and I think it was just the nioxin "cleaning" off the dead skin on my scalp. Today I couldn't see any dandruff! YAY!
Also, it's too early to notice less hair loss, but I did notice that my scalp isn't itchy at all anymore. In fact, it's kind of weird to not feel the need to itch it... I feel like something is missing but it's a great feeling!!
It hasn't made my hair dry or brittle like the nizoral AD did.
All I can say is so far I'm impressed and would totally recommend it!!
Good luck!
Becky

Did you have dandruff to begin with or did it start with the shampoo?
I'd be interested in taking it for the hair loss but I'm not sure how I'd feel about having dandruff, even for a brief while. My hairloss isn't super noticeable yet but I'm sure the dandruff would be.
On the other hand, I would love to get rid of this tingly, itchy feeling. It drives me nuts. And if the hair stopped falling out and started to re-grow that would be awesome.
I had a really mild dandruff before. It was and still is only really noticable when I get out of the shower and my hair is really showing the bare spots. I've never (even with the nioxin) had flakes on my shoulders or anything like that. I think most of the flakes get blown out when I dry my hair upside down.
Are you on met or anything like that? I found that also helped decrease the hair loss and I have a fair amount of regrowth since starting met. It was the itchies that didn't get any help from the met.

I must be weird - my hair got dry and brittle on the Nioxin, but soft and shiny with Nizoral!
