Default Nioxin Update...may be of special interest to Afro-Amer Cysters

Just updating since I started the Nioxin regimen this week. This morning there was only a few strands in my comb...this compared to the dozen or more I usually have each morning.

I only started using the line yesterday (Thursday 7/10) but its obvious to me that its helped. Since we sisters can't wash our hair daily, I'm going to try to do it every 3 days and hopefully that won't dry out my hair too much. The line for chemically treated hair seems to have enough moisture in it for my scalp...not one flake in sight. The brochure that accompanies the product talks about its benefits in promoting a healthy moisture balance for the scalp as well as blocking DHT.

Hope this helps...I'll keep you posted.

Hi, Savannah!
Although I am not African American,
I read your post with great interest, because I started using Nioxin this week, also!

I probably have the exact opposite of your hair...mine is straight and pure white!

So far my hair feels really nice. Not sure if the hairs coming out are less yet.

Just wanted you to know what you said about less hairs in your comb was very encouraging to me!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Kathryn

I started this the other day. I bought the leave in treatment but I can't get past the smell. I did it once and haven't done it since.
Has anyone else noticed the smell.

Oh YES! But I like that smell because it is a PEPPERMINT odor and I LOVE Peppermint! However, I can certainly understand your not liking that...it's REALLY STRONG! I certainly wouldn't use the stuff if it smelled of Spearmint as I don't like that.

But, I don't mind the peppermint...my whole bathroom smells like a candy cane factory when I am done showering!

Default I LOVE Nioxin!

I have been using Nioxin for about 3 months and my hair dresser noticed instantly and every visit since, that I am shedding much less hair. No new hair growth yet, but it feels great not to have to sweep up after every blow-dry.

And btw, the smell is great. My hubby likes the smell too!

Hugs!

Default Where to buy Nioxin

Hi there.

One 10.6 oz. bottle of Shampoo (cleanser) and one bottle of Conditioner (scalp therapy ) are about 15.99 each (I use the protective line for chemcally trated hair). These lasted me about 2 months, and I have shorter hair (chin length).

The leave in scalp spray (love it b/c it stops those sebum chuknks from forming) is about the same cost but I am not sure because I still have the original bottle that came in the starter pack from 3 months ago (which I highly recommend). I use it daily.

I buy it at hair Cosmopolitan in Simon malls (nationwide). Or they might have a website.

Very highly recommend. 90% less hair shedding and the texture improved almost immediately to the point where ppl noticed.

Good luck!
